So...the SPICE GIRLS are doing a musical...

So, I noticed last night that Spice Girls was trending. I thought ...'I wonder why'... and went to look on the news, only to find out that all four Brit pop singers recently reunited to announce they are doing a Spice Girls musical. Apparently it is going to be named after their tear jerking song 'Viva Forever' and will be about a young girl named Viva who enters a TV talent contest with three friends but is forced to ditch them for a solo career! The production will obviously include most of their songs! 

Now, my first reaction was 'Oh dear, how chessy' but that only lasted for a split second. This was because, suddenly my memory was flooded with images of the OBSESSION my friends and I used to have with them as kids! All the dance routines we made to their music, all the times we spent watching their videos and singing their songs! We actually created our own Spice Girls group in primary school (pic below) and I was Mel B. Me and one of my girls used to write letters to eachother, pretending to be them. I would be like "Hi Emma, it's Mel B. Our manager is annoying me this week! How are you feeling?" hahaha! Now THAT is an obsession if I ever seen one! 

To be honest, all Spice Girls songs (even the cheese infested ones) give me a feeling of nostalgia! Especially '2 become 1'...it just reminds me of Christmas! So I think what I am saying is, the past child in me, won the battle and I am 'all for' this musical. Because hey, 'cheesy' is a musical's second name right?  

....(And yes, that is ME *ahem* I mean Mel B rocking the socks-and-sandals combo back in the 90's)
